Statement of Work 

Eagle Works Consulting will perform research and deliver a summary report and presentation of findings and suggestions on the following topics:

Supply Chain Forecasting

• Working backward from a sales goal (to be provided by Costco) to determine tools and services available to support a plan to implement and execute.

• Ex: $1B furniture sales goal | 100k containers | As many as 17 countries

Tools & strategies

• Available resources to help interpret and correlate geographical supply/demand imbalances. This will promote efficiency in forecasting and preparation for logistical and supply-chain needs between suppliers and Costco docks.

Methods and opportunities

• Finding systems available to enhance information visibility in the upstream of the supply chain.

• Seeking ways to more accurately monitor product availability from vendors, and better predict arrival time.

• Ex: Investigate possibility of connecting ship & trucking companies own tracking system(s) to make visible to Costco.

• Knowing Costco is taking steps toward integrating SAP software, looking for services and/or technologies that would be compatible long term.

The timeline for the project is to be approximately 2 months. We intend to deliver an electronic copy of our research before November 20, 2018 and schedule the presentation the week of November 26th in-person or via video conference. Throughout the project we have an expectation for timely responses in communication in both directions. We also require the recognition that the project is a collaborative effort which requires active sharing of information as well as open communication of progress and end goals.

Our Goal

Our team has been organized through Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Eagle Consulting Services. To complete this project, we collaborated with Costco to find supply chain and logistics software solutions and create an annotated buyers guide to aid them in modernization. 

These software solutions include tracking products when en route and notifying your team when their arrival time to the distribution center will be. Please see our methodology page to learn more about our process and recommendation methods. Our hope is that this matrix tool will display all of the necessary components Costco needs to select their opportune logistics partner.
