Methodology
The goal of this project is to have an elaborate buyers guide that will showcase important information about Costco's potential logistics partners. Our methodology begins with the wide selection of potential logistics partners and narrowing this list down based on key features. Some of these features include traceability, visibility, RFID compatibility, among others. Once we had a more valid list, we moved on to contacting them. As a team, we created a uniform list of questions that can guide each conversation with these logistics professionals.
These questions included:
- What is the company's implementation process and how demanding will it be?
- How does the company's service compare to that of SAP or is their software compatible with it?
- Does the company have international reach?
- Can this software speak easily to RFID?
- What is the bandwidth of the company's software?
- What are the company's top clients?
- Is the software cloud-based, locally based, or both?
These questions were designed to assess the strengths and weaknesses of each company as well as obtaining uniform data for ease of understanding. From this point, we narrowed down our search to five key partners and input our findings into a weighted matrix, seen on the next tab.
